The first step in the book calls for a spirit bond with the one who wishes to perform the ritual. 

Thus calls for a visit with an Ouija Wytch, which one is present, hidden in many chambers of the school.

The calling requires an item from the parted to form a communication, in which the final bloodied note was useful, placed upon the spirit board.

And the Ouija Wytch extends one of her peculiar wooden hand to the person, to start the séance. 

A breath, and another, the wooden hand was received and at once the ritual begun.
